So much, in fact, that she's decided to play on it, and has adopted the species name "WTF?"

You see, D'anna is a one-off. She's totally unique, does NOT breed true, and has not been replicated (to date). She is a species of one, not bred but actually designed, from the genes on out, to have specific attributes and qualities.

What attributes, you may ask? Well, her creator was a rather warped individual - gifted and intelligent in his own way, but not entirely sane. So in addition to giving her the wings and other extra appendages, he designed her for aesthetics that would please him. The slim, lithe build, almost childlike, is no accident...her creator liked his playthings young, and designed D'anna to have a youthful appearance for her entire life.

So yes, D'anna started her life as a slave. Every aspect of D'anna's body is designed, from her fur color right down to her bust size. From conception through birth and childhood, she was shaped and molded into a servant and a kind of...familiar to her creator. She was taught everything that she was to be most useful, and to be able to serve him in the widest possible variety of ways.

And yes, THAT means exactly what you think it means too.

In D'anna's backstory, she escaped from her creator when an asteroid struck the planet, used her skills to make contacts and gain the capital she needed to start a business, and then set up the Vanilla Club. She's been operating it ever since.
